So, I’ve been cutting for about 9 weeks now. I’ve lost 11 lbs.
Progress in spite of the cut—
Squat: 120 lbs 5x5
Bench: 80 lbs 5x5
OHP: 50 lbs 5x5
Barbell row: 90 lbs 5x5
Deadlift: 140 lbs 1x5
Cable crunches: 50 lbs 3x10
Lifting 3 days/week. Cardio 2 days/week.
I’m…. kind of obsessed with the gym.
I will do better at updating tumblr.
I miss writing.. well, typing. I tried to keep a journal, but I don’t know what it is — maybe technology? — it’s difficult to keep a traditional journal. I would rather type my thoughts.
New Year calls for Reflection
It has been a long and seemingly rewarding year: 2012. We’re two days away from January 1st. New beginnings. New challenges. New expectations. Unforeseen mistakes and sub-optimal let downs. It is all coming. The only fear for me is the unknown. I don’t know what order will come of these, but I do know that I can do my best to achieve my goals.
Fitness, Family, Focus
2013 is the year of the “Real World.” I call it the “Real World” because I’m graduating from Howard in May. I admit to being uneasy. Going to school for over 16 years straight can sort of handicap you. School is all I know. And at least for now, it will be over. Technically you enter the “Real World” after high school, but that’s not true. I never stopped going to school. I never stopped taking Winter Break. I never stopped taking Summer Break. I never stopped taking Spring Break. On May 11, 2013, the force of the “Real World” will hit us college grads like a 90mph fast ball to the face. You cringe just thinking about it, huh? Me too.
But even while bracing for a crack in the face from this fast ball, I’m excited. I’m excited for the opportunities and room to grow. It’s the perfect time to learn. Making mistakes at 21 is preferable to missteps at 40.
So, that’s all for now. I’ll have more about the internship, classes, countdown to graduation, work, and family in later posts.
